Licences

iGaming licences by jurisdiction

A gambling licence is tied to the market whose players you serve, not to where your company sits. Each page here takes one jurisdiction and separates what the regulator states (fees, decision times, licence types, register entries) from what licence sellers claim. Great Britain is live; Malta, Curaçao, the Isle of Man, Sweden, the Netherlands, Estonia and Romania are published and in legal review; the rest open one by one as their official sources are added to the source registry.

What every licence page will show

  • Who needs the licence and which products it covers, in the regulator's words.
  • Regulator fees, kept apart from taxes, capital and reserves: they are different costs and never added into one "price".
  • Decision time with its source type: the regulator's own figure, or a market estimate marked as such.
  • How to verify a licence in the official register, and what that register does not tell you.
  • The official sources and the date we read them.

Market licence, hub licence or contested claim?

  • Market licence. Issued by the country whose consumers you serve, such as Great Britain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Estonia or Romania. It is required for that market whatever else you hold.
  • Hub licence. Lets you operate from a jurisdiction such as Malta, Curaçao or the Isle of Man. It does not open regulated markets that license gambling themselves.
  • Contested claim. A permit whose legal basis or supervision is disputed. These get a separate legitimacy check before any page is published, and never a "get this licence" button.
