OSAGO (compulsory car insurance) in Ukraine 2026
OSAGO is Ukraine's compulsory motor third-party liability insurance, operating under Law 1961-IV since 2005. Driving without a valid OSAGO policy is prohibited — UAH 850 fine for first offence, UAH 1,700 for repeats. Since 1 September 2024, OSAGO is partially electronic — the policy is tied to the car's number plate and verified automatically by police.
